Windows 7 and IE8 & FireFox  Website Viewing Issues
I have recently set up two identical PC's running Windows 7 (both from Dell with the exact configuration). PC#1 has issues loading imagery and rendering pages of certain websites using both IE8 and FireFox. PC#2 has no problems loading the same websites. I've tried compatibility mode and this does not help. Any thoughts or options?

Clear temporary internet files Restore IE to it's default configuration. are both general tips for resolving browser issues in IE. However, you indicate the issue also apperas in firefox? In that case I suspect there is something wrong with the connection itself. This also explains why things partially work, but larger files (images) fail to load. You could do a "ping": click start-run type cmd <enter> and in the black window type ping www.microsoft.com -t <enter>. Keep an eye on it for a minute. You should see packets coming in with ms delays. If ther is an issue with the connection quality, this delay will vary a lot (example 20ms vs sometimes 900ms) and:or you wile have a notice "reqyuest timed out" now and then. presl ctrl-c to stop the ping and type exit <enter> to close the window. Is this a wired or wireless connection? Wireless: check the signal strength, move closer to the access point, check the driver and if possible try another NIC. In case of a wired connection, try another patchcable, check the NIC driver, use another switchport and if possible try using another NIC too. This should enbale you to trace the root cause of connection troubles. MCP/MCSA/MCTS/MCITP
